ROLM systems collection of written materials. Included are: Business Week reprint from Feb. 12, 1979, "A hot new challenger takes on Ma Bell"; a Rice Sallyport article, unknown date, "ROLM: By any other name"; a Wikipedia article printed in 2012 describing the ROLM company; and, a ROLM Corporation brochure and related promotional flyers, ca. 1970, describing the company's military specification mini-computer. This company began as a tech startup in the late 1960's and was founded by four Rice University graduates, whose last names were combined to make the company name: Gene Richeson, Ken Oshman, Robert Maxfield and Walter Loewenstern, Jr. Item has no date marking, but date is inferred from similar item in the same box that bears a tag indicating the date of manufacture as June 1988. Items are together in a folder in the box.
