General

Small metal oblong ashtray, approx. 3" x 5", with curved sides and ends. The metal is aged bronze (or brass?) and very thin, probably stamped. The Rice Institute academic seal is embossed on the bottom. The style of the decorations and the substantially worn character of the item suggest that it is possibly quite old, 19-teens or 1920's, though there are no marks on the item to corroborate this. There is no information regarding original owner or donor. Item is loose in the box.
