Gold Association of Rice Alumni Distinguished Service medal awarded to Mrs. W.W. Fondren. Front of medal is in relief and depicts an image of Lovett Hall with text around the perimeter reading "Assocation of Rice Alumni for Distnguished Service." The back is smooth polished and engraved with text "Awarded to Mrs. W.W. Fondren, Friend and Benefactor of the Rice Institute, November 1, 1946." There is no information regarding donor. Item is located within its original gold metal-trimmed black leather presentation box, along with a commemorative key to Fondren Library also awarded to Mrs. Fondren.
