Association of Rice Alumni medal for Distinguished Service awarded to William V. Houston. Medal is round and gold-colored. The front is in relief and depicts an image of Lovett Hall with perimeter text "Association of Rice Alumni, For Distinguished Service." The back is flat and engraved with text "Awarded to William V. Houston Second President of Rice Institute and Honorary Chancellor of Rice University, in gratitude, November 11, 1967." This is followed by a Latin phrase in script. There is no information regarding donor. Item is located within an envelope identified with "William Vermillion Houston Medals, Association of Rice Alumni Distinguished Service."
