Gold-colored round medallion presented as the Mavis C. Pitman Memorial Prize in Art along with its original wood display stand. The front is in relief and depicts an unidentified graphic that includes the text "1912-1980". Around the perimeter is the text "Rice University Mavis C. Pitman Memorial Pirze in Art." Donor is most likely Russ Pittman. There is no indication of an original owner. Item is found in a box identified with "Mavis C. Pittman Memorial Prize in Art medallion."
