General

Round gold-colored medalion presented as the Henry Russell Smith Award. The front is in relief and shows a laurel wreath with a stylized flying owl in the center. Around the border is the text ""Henry Russell Pitman Award, William Marsh Rice University". The back is featureless. There are at least two Henry Russell Pitman awards, one in Managerial Studies and one Graduate Fellowship in Architecture. It is not known whether this is one or the other, or neither, of these. There is no information regarding original owner or donor. Item is found in an envelope identified with "Henry Russell Pitman Award Medallion."
