A "paper knife" (letter opener?) originally owned by Robert DeVoe Burleson, class of 1943. Item is gold-colored metal with a blue back and a plastic front piece. This plastic piece is yellowed but was perhaps originally white? The text "Rice University" and the academic shield are printed on this plastic piece. The item has a blue tassel attached. Donated in the 1950's according to previous database entries. This item is located within an envelope identified with "gold-colored paper knife w/seal Robert DeVoe Burleson '43 1950s."
