4 blackened metal clothes buttons embossed with "National Institute" and including a small purple and silver/gray ribbon tied through the button thread holes. The database has previously described these as being NROTC and ROTC buttons from 1941 to 1951 but no evidence is found to corroborate that description. There is no information regarding original owner or donor. Items are located within an envelope inside a box identified with "NROTC ROTC buttons 1941 1951."
