It is a 2-piece object consisting of a clear lucite block with a concave depression and a gold owl with "jewel" eyes embedded within, and a clear glass bowl that fits in the concave depression. There is no evidence that this object is in any way connected to Rice University. The owl is a generic owl. There is no information regarding original owner, donor or date. This item is located within a box identified with " Owl 2 piece ashtray! clear with Owl."
