General

Compact, black with silver accents, lozenge shaped. The front is engraved with cursive letters "EBLS" for Elizabeth Baldwin Literary Society. There is an informational notecard in the UA225 Control Files folder that notes a gift made in 1976 by Alice Kemp (Mrs. L.C.), class of 1935 (attended one year), which included an item described as "EBLS Compact - 1935 given to pledges." This item is probably that one, though there is no mention found in the Campaniles of 1934, 35 or 36 of an Alice Kemp. Item located in a box identified with "4 compacts, 1935, 1936, n.d."
