1960; The Gulf Coast Economy – Present and Future
Scope and Contents
Robert R. Herring was president and CEO for Houston Natural Gas Corporation from 1967 to 1981. He gave many speeches to civic and professional societies during the time period 1957-1980, with the bulk of his speeches delivered in the 1970’s. Some of the societies he delivered speeches to are: The New York Society of Security Analysts, The American Petroleum Institute, The American Gas Association, and the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs of Houston. These speeches mainly concern energy or Houston Natural Gas Corporation’s financial position and prospects for the future in both of these areas. A number of the speeches concern the 1971-1975 Energy Crisis. The bulk of the speeches are typewritten, but there are quite a few that are handwritten on note cards.
