Herzog, 1996
Scope and Contents
Produced at Rice University.
"Footage from Werner Herzog's visit at Rice for the screening of ""Lessons of Darkness"". It includes presentation of Herzog before the screening, discussion with him after the screening, him interacting with people in the gallery space of the Media Center and an interview with him. One of the interviewers is Brian Huberman.
The footage seems to be coming from different sources -the discussion is shot on tape, while the interview seems to be shot on black and white film. The original interview spans a few reels, here we have only excerpts.
There are 4 video tapes from the discussion, we swith from one to the other at 31:11, 1:02:38, 1:02:55. The end of the discussion is at 1:24:43; from 1:25:06 we see him around the Media center; the interview stars at 1:39:06. There is no audio between 1:25:06-125:42.
At 1:02:48 there is an image of Black baseball players.
At 1:27:05 a man comes to Herzog and asks him to sign his accordion (which already bears autographs by figures such as Allen Ginsberg and Richard Thompson. At 1:27:58, before leaving the Media Center, Herzog says ""Good night, camera!""
At 1:39:06-01:39:26 the cameraman runs out of film, but the audio is still recording. "
