Scope and Contents
"A recruiting film for Rice. Narrator tells the history of Rice from the founding of Rice Institute through its expansion during the post-WW2 years.
James Blue makes a cameo with film students at 9:15. Shots from many places at Rice, including Hanszen House, Willy's statue at the Quad, Fondren, Rice Stadium, Lovett Hall, Art Barn during an exhibit entitled ""Homage to Picasso""; features ""Rice Research Computer"" (referred to as ""the Computer"" in throughout the film) at the Department of Electrical engineering. Quite a few nice aerial shots of campus. A few shots from beer bike. Then President Hackerman plays squash.
Also has a brief (under a minute) portrait of o Houston as "a young modern city with a variety of cultural opportunities, shows"
