Contained in brown paper wrapping with list of contents in Stravinsky's hand in purple ink: "Ière Epreuves de l'Edition J. & W. Chester des: 1) 3 Pieces pour Clar. 2) Piano-Rag-Music; 3) 4 Chants russes 4) 3 Histoires pour enfants 5) Chant des Bateliers du Volga (orch.) 6) Suite du "Soldat" (Piano, Clar. et Violon) [this sixth piece is not included among the present sets of proofs]."
With a note in the hand of Soulima Stravinsky attesting to the fact that the manuscript annotations to the proofs are in his father's hand.
