Black ink and pencil on art paper. With text in Russian within decorative border incorporating geometric elements. Sheet size ca. 320 x 250 mm.
In a folder with statement certifying authenticity in Soulima Stravinsky's hand: "Premiére Esquisse pour la couverture de la 1ere Edition du Pater Noster de I.S. par Théodore Stravinsky (page originale manuscrite) certifié Soulima Stravinsky."
Pater Noster was first published in London by J. & W. Chester in 1926. Kirchmeyer 45. De Lerma P7 (also recording an edition published by Édition Russe de Musique in 1932, plate number R.M.V. 545).

Biographical / Historical
Théodore was Igor and Catherine Stravinsky's first child. An accomplished artist, he studied with Georges Braque and André Dertain. His works include paintings and drawings (including set designs for his father's theatrical works), murals, and designs for stained glass windows.
