General Scope and Contents

Dedicated to The Flonzaley Quartet Five sets of engraved proof sheets with annotations in the composer's hand.

Proofs 2-5 preserved in brown paper wrapping with titling in red and blue pencil and with a note in Soulima Stravinsky's hand attesting to the authenticity of the autograph corrections.

Set of engraved first proof sheets with very extensive corrections, alterations, and annotations in Stravinsky's hand in red and black ink and pencil. Octavo. Unbound. 13 leaves paginated 3-15 printed on rectos only. Slightly worn and creased; several marginal tears; minor fraying. With note to upper margin of first page in Stravinsky's hand requesting a second proof signed "I Stravinsky Biarritz 17 November 1923." Preserved in a plain orange folder with manuscript identification in Soulima Stravinsky's hand.

Unbound. 13 leaves paginated 3-15 printed on rectos only. Final page with "Carantee-Garches 1920" printed at lower outer right corner. With note to verso of last leaf signed by Stravinsky requesting a third proof dated October 8, 1923.
