General
2 identical laminated wood plaques presented to Rice University in recognition of the semi-centennial in 1962. The plaques are wood with a certificate laminated onto the face. The certificate bears an image of a classical robe-draped female figure with one arm upraised supporting an owl and includes the words: "Fifty years...but a moment in history...yet time to develop the wisdom of thousands of young minds...and to build a reputation for excellence in education. May the succeeding moments in Rice University's history be as brilliant as the first."
