Conditions Governing Access

Boxes 1-25, 27-30, 32, 35-37, 39, 43, 44, 46-52, 54, 56-58, 60-62, 64, 67-128, as well as all unboxed and oversize items are stored onsite mostly in the vault at the Woodson Research Center.

Boxes 26, 31, 33, 34, 38, 40-42, 45, 53, 55, 59, 63, 65, and 66 stored offsite at the Library Service Center and require 24-hour notice for retrieval. Please contact the Woodson Research Center at 713-348-2586 or woodson@rice.edu for more information.

Additional Description

General

The sculpture depicts an owl with feet and talons out and wings spread. The material is heavy but otherwise indeterminate. The owls breast is decorated with the Rice "R" logo in the "old English" font adopted for the athletics logo c. 2010 and still current as of 2024.
