General

These items have a detectable maker's mark "MB" on the side of the base, which indicates they were made by the Marion Bonze Company, which was active from 1921 to 1958. These bookends depicting an owl standing on a stack of books was one of their stock products. The indications from descriptions of this company's products is that these bookends are painted cast bronze.
