Class of 1933
Scope and Contents
Written memoirs and typed transcripts of interviews relating student experiences at Rice Institute, later Rice University, representing many of the classes between the years 1916 and 1976. Half of these materials are in the form of 50th reunion booklets arranged by class year, and half of them are individual student's memories arranged by the student's last name. The 50th reunion booklets generally include student questionnaires which provide details of alumni's careers, families and their memories of student life at Rice, written by the alumni themselves. The individual student's memories are in a variety of formats, some are brief essays of one page, others are longer, and others are transcribed interviews, such as the interview with Malcolm Lovett. Student memories include favorite professors and classes, recreational activities, courtship, employment, interaction with the city of Houston, the effects of war on campus and more.
