General
The series consists of 28 letters and notes spanning the years 1944 to 1990, with a copy of a letter from the Poulenc brothers dated 1893. Most of the correspondence is from Pierre Bernac, the great interpreter of Poulenc’s vocal works, to the Lambiotte family. The primary recipients of the letters are Madame Rose Lambiotte (1891-1964), sometimes referred to in the correspondence as “Mme. Chapdelaine,” and her daughter Rosine Lambiotte Donhauser. The series includes letters as well as cards and telegrams which were included in the correspondence.
