The Rabbi, Kinky and Me
Content Description
"Lifelong friendships are to be cherished. This is the story of one such friendship, between Jimmy Kessler, Kinky Friedman and Bill Scholl. For Bill, landing, at age 13, at Echo Hill Ranch, a summer camp in the Texas Hill Country was quite the revelation! This was different from the Cajun, Catholic culture of South Louisiana that he knew so well. Somehow, that part of him blended with the Texas Jewish teenage world, and his two new friends welcomed him with open arms! Jimmy eventually became a Rabbi, Kinky a country music star, author and politician, Bill a farmer-businessman-therapist and holder of two passports. Each found their way around the 1950’s expectations for young Jewish boys. This is the story of how their friendship supported them as they lived their wildest dreams."
