Abstract: Personal correspondence, and reviews of German author and professor of history of literature Josef Nadler's publications, as well as unpublished mss. of Nadler's writings, and seminar papers presented to him while he was a professor. The collection also includes research notes and materials on J.G. Hamann, such as bibliographical information, and other information on him, his philosophy, or his impact.

Abstract Max Freund was Professor of German and Head of the German Department at Rice and active in the German-American Societies of Houston. This collection consists of course preparation materials for various German subjects he taught, such as Philology, Phonetics, and Literature.
