Biographical / Historical

Joe Montes began the KPFT 90.1 radio show "Joe's Roadhouse" in 1998. In 2002, he started a monthly broadcast featuring two performers/bands recorded live at a local venue in front of an audience. Frank Cupal of F&S productions would record the shows. "Live from Joe's Roadhouse" continued for seven years and spawned 12 CDs that were used for KPFT fund drives.

The genres run the gammit of blues, rock n' roll, soul, funk, reggae, and jazz. It also featured Houston area talent.
