John William Hutcheson papers

Overview The John W. Hutcheson papers include correspondence to and from Texas attorney and soldier Hutcheson before and during the U.S. Civil War, a text of a speech on immigration (1852), documents relating to the Masonic Order, a license to practice law in Texas, and several newspaper issues (1862, 1863, 1898, 1903) describing Hutcheson's life and his military career with the 4th Texas Regiment.

The folder also contains correspondence between Helen Foster Snow, relative of John Wyatt Moody, and Jean Halden Walker, both genealogists researching the Moody family and its family holdings in Houston.
