Abstract: The collection contains manuscripts of English novelist and short story writer Claude Houghton's unpublished book "Kingdoms of the Spirit" and an original manuscript of Houghton's published novel "Julian Grant Loses His Way." Also included are correspondence to, from, and about Houghton.

Abstract: This collection consists of roughly 180 numbered drawings, including duplicates, on linen, tracing paper, and blueprints of house located at 3456 Inwood Drive (formerly 3460 Inwood Drive) in the exclusive River Oaks subdivision in Houston, Texas, and designed by Cram & Ferguson with Stayton Nunn. Scope and Contents These letters, written to Quin's sister, Derby, cover his call to active duty in 1944, and training as a communications watch officer in Norfolk, Virginia, in preparation for his assignment to Landing Ship Tank (LST) 573. Within the constraints of wartime censorship, the letters describe shipboard life, the latter part of the war in the Pacific, and post-war occupation duties in the Far East.

Overview This collection contains numerous letters relating to personal and business events involving the Cogswell family. It also includes legal documents relating to business transactions reflecting the development and establishment of the Cogswell family throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. This family ran very successful businesses and these papers reflect the changes occurring in social attitudes and methods of business transactions over a 100 year period.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of four letters from Colonel House to his niece Mary Louise Howze. The earliest of these, dated June 13, 1925 and penned in a Paris hotel, offers his congratulations to Mary Louise on the occasion of her graduation from Rice Institute. The second is postmarked Manchester, Massachusetts and thanks Mary Louise for her diligence in sending family news to him. Overview The Community Artists’ Collective is a Houston-based nonprofit organization which organizes exhibitions for local artists and educational and community development programs for inner-city youths and adults.
