Abstract

This collection contains ten boxes of material related to the history and operation of Ellington Field, also known as Ellington Air Force Base, near Houston, Texas. The majority of the records date from 1917-2007, and include historical research materials, photographs, books, microfilm, postcards, and memorabilia. The foundation of the collection was material assembled by historian Kathryn Black Morrow for the publication of a history of Ellington Field.

Abstract Audio recordings and administrative files reflecting the daily business of the KTRU Radio station at Rice University. Recordings include newscasts, interviews with rock, jazz and classical musicians, Rice Presidents’ State of the University speeches and recorded live music. Abstract

This collection contains 242 astronomical photographic glass plates collected by Rice University's Dr. Reggie Dufour. The majority were taken at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in the Coquimbo Region of northern Chile. A small number of the plates were taken at the Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson Arizona.

The Benjamin M. Anderson Aeronautical History collection consists of a wide assortment of materials related to the history of aeronautics, including photos, artistic renderings, postcards, schematics and diagrams, publications and papers from aircraft manufacturers, clippings, calendars, scrapbooks, and 8mm movies and audio recordings.
