Abstract: The Shepherd Society was founded in 1977 to further the cause of music at Rice University and in Houston through scholarship support and promotion of the programs and recognition of the musical talents of teachers and students of the Shepherd School of Music. The records relate to the governing council of the society, meetings and their agendas and minutes, published materials such as programs, announcements and invitations for special concerts and the Madrigal Dinner.
