Overview The Abercrombie Engineering Laboratory collection provides an overview of the chemical engineering program housed within the building’s walls for over seventy years. Faculty research, class papers, and program accreditation materials forming the bulk of the collection, with event programs, photos, and memorabilia offering more insight into the program’s culture.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of the videorecordings of the symposium sessions, as well as a PDF copy of the event program, all of which are online at https://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/108818.

Abstract Letters, diaries, scrapbooks, and notebooks belonging to various members of the Elliott family, dating from 1830-1951. The majority of the collection's letters are from the early 20th-century, though some date from the U.S. Civil War (describing life in Mississippi). Other materials describe farm life in Kansas, railroad business, attendance at Rice Institute, and the family life of the Elliotts.

Overview The collection consists of materials accumulated by a major alumni supporter of Rice athletics over sixty years. Included is a program from the Texas Relays in 1926 which shows the discus throwing record in the Southwest Conference held by the creator of the collection. Overview The collection includes scripts from the 1920s as well as programs, ephemera, and photographs. In addition there are newsclippings and a ledger beginning in 1931 and continuing through 1934 containing lists of members, committee assignments, and minutes of meetings.

Overview The collection consists of records of intramural athletic activities at Rice University from when they were first organized in 1939 through 1995. Included are documents showing the sports offered, yearly numbers of participants, of annual winners in competitions, photographs of some of the teams, and newsclippings, primarily from the campus newspaper, the Thresher.
