Abstract Takao Doi, who received his doctorate from Rice, carried this cloth image of the Orion Nebula on the Unites States Space Shuttle Endeavour mission STS-123. The Endeavour launched at 2:28 a.m. March 11, 2008 from launch pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Doi was a mission specialist on that mission.
