Overview Houston Canoe Club was established in 1964, and pursues all types of paddlesport, from canoeing to kayaking, quietwater, whitewater, touring and racing. The records in this collection reflect the club's activities such as meetings, events and training. Formats include meeting minutes, correspondence, photographs, financial records, event planning records and ephemera such as event t-shirts.

Overview Research materials for the 2011 monograph published by Louis Aulbach entitled Buffalo Bayou : An echo of Houston's wilderness beginnings. Formats include typescript drafts of text for the book, notes, and images and copies of primary sources consulted such as photographs, newspaper and journal articles, and more. This is an entirely digital collection, with access facilitated by staff at the Woodson Research Center.
