Abstract The collection consists of materials accumulated by a major alumni supporter of Rice athletics over sixty years. Included is a program from the Texas Relays in 1926 which shows the discus throwing record in the Southwest Conference held by the creator of the collection. This material serves as a visual record of the “R” Assocation’s member athletes and coaches, official activities, and general Rice sports events. Formats include photographs, slides, negatives and beta format videotapes, as well as some written biographical information, awards, and ephemera such as a basketball jersey. The bulk covers men's sports, football and track in particular.
