Description of Garibaldi's capture at Aspromonte
Identifier: MS 301
Abstract: This volume includes a 5-page description, handwritten by Dumas, of an expedition in 1862 that led General Giuseppe Garibaldi unknowingly into the hands of Italian troops at Aspromonte, where he was taken prisoner along with his sons. It details how the unnamed conspirators pretended to get lost, leading Garibaldi to a cabin where he was captured.
