Overview This collection is made up of one box containing photographs taken by Amalya Shandelman of the final service held by the United Orthodox Synagogues in February 2018, following the events of Hurricane Harvey in the fall of 2017.

Overview Photographs used in the Houston Chronicle and/or taken by Chronicle photographers document activities within the Houston Jewish community between the 1940s and 2000s.

Overview This collection consists of correspondence, publicity materials, a statement about the founding of the Joan and Stanford Alexander South Texas Jewish Archives, formerly known as the Houston Jewish History Archive (HJHA), meeting materials, newsletters, and news clippings that feature the work the HJHA is doing to preserve materials belonging to individuals and synagogues in the Houston Jewish community following the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

Overview The collection consists of one box of correspondence to members of the Kristal family from 1921 to 1925, including two wedding invitations, and one news clipping. The majority of the correspondence is in Yiddish and much of it is from relatives in the Poland.

Overview The collection contains event flyers, "Branches" newsletters, and event posters, which document some of the activities the Program in Jewish studies participated in from 2015 to 2022.

Overview The Robert I. Cohen gift store printing plate offers a fascinating glimpse into Cohen’s creative approach to advertising in his hugely influential department store businesses. The plate, meant to draw patrons in with its festive message, is redolent of Christmas shopping at the department store in the early 1900s.

Overview The collection includes individual files within the South Texas Jewish Archives including materials including: newsclippings, notes, correspondence, photographs, and other materials. The contents are donated by community members and/or gathered by the HJHA staff.

Overview Two boxes containing Texas Jewish Historical Society Newsletters, membership directories, and a brochure document some events and activities undertaken by the Texas Jewish Historical Society from 1999 to present.
