Scope and Contents The collection consists of the videorecordings of the symposium sessions, as well as a PDF copy of the event program, all of which are online at https://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/108818.

Overview This collection contains ten Compact Discs and thirty-two cassette tapes of Professor Philip Napoli's interview with David Westheimer. The interviews were conducted over a two-day span in June of 2002.

Abstract: Letter written during the Civil War by an anonymous Union Army prisoner- of-war, dated December18, 1864, and addressed from Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginia, to United States Senator William Wright of New Jersey, describing his worsening health while held in close confinement in the prison as hostage for a Confederate officer imprisoned in West Virginia, and urging the senator to intercede on his behalf to secure his exchange and release.

Overview This collection represents the community activism efforts of Mr. Reginald Moore, which has often taken the form of researching topics as represented in newspaper accounts, requesting government records on the topics, and corresponding with officials and engaging in public testimony. Content Description Correspondence, reports, research notes, and photographs created and/or maintained by Mr. Reginald Moore, relating to the history of the Convict Leasing System in Sugar Land, Texas and current efforts to publicly recognize that history. The reports included in this collection are in some cases publicly available, but are difficult to access. Correspondence includes letters and emails between Mr. Moore and various public officials and other interested parties such as archaeologist Fred McGhee.
