Scope and Contents The collection consists of the videorecordings of the symposium sessions, as well as a PDF copy of the event program, all of which are online at https://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/108818.

Abstract Letters, diaries, scrapbooks, and notebooks belonging to various members of the Elliott family, dating from 1830-1951. The majority of the collection's letters are from the early 20th-century, though some date from the U.S. Civil War (describing life in Mississippi). Other materials describe farm life in Kansas, railroad business, attendance at Rice Institute, and the family life of the Elliotts.

Overview This material primarily consists of correspondence to and from Addison McElroy during the Second World War and immediately thereafter. Included are letters from his friends at Rice, giving insight into wartime life at the Institute. There is also an extensive number of letters from McElroy to his mother and her responses thereto. Overview This collection includes photographs, certificates, news clippings, typescripts, and awards dealing for the most part with Edmund McAshan Dupree's undergraduate career at Rice Institute and his class’ 25th Anniversary Reunion in 1941.

Abstract: Edwin N. Lunn graduated from Rice University in 1920. His diary was written between January 1918 and May 1919, and consists mostly of Lunn's personal feelings and accounts of experiences he had while attending Rice University.
