Allan Cunningham papers

Abstract: The bulk of this collection is comprised of correspondence to and from art historian Allan Cunningham. The correspondence largley concerns matters connected with Cunningham's numerous publishing projects, including his Lives of the Most Eminent British Painters, Sculptors, and Architects, which appeared between 1829 and 1833. Also included in the collection are three Mss. poems--one perhaps by the Rev. J. Judkins and two by Cunningham.

Allan Ludwig New England Gravestone photographs

Overview The collection consists of 408 black and white photographs and 77 slides of New England gravestone carvings. The gravestone carvings date from 1653-1810, these photographs of the carvings were created by Allan Ludwig in 1961-1964.

American Institute of Architects Houston (AIA Houston) oral history interview collection

Overview The collection consists of tape recorded interviews with nine people who were closely familiar with the architectural work of William Ward Watkin. The recordings are in digital mp3 format and on original microcassettes, including the recording equipment with which they were made. No transcripts currently exist for this material. Animal prints theft collection

Overview This collection consists of circa 700 color prints stolen from the journals (the journal of the British Ornithologists’ Union) and Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, owned by the Fondren Library. The prints date from 1859-1915 and feature birds, bird eggs, and other animals. Theft correspondence and research dates from 1980-2004 and represents the Fondren Library’s efforts to cooperate with and assist in the Blumberg investigation.
