Abstract: The F. W. Heitmann Company business ledgers contains business materials from the F. W. Heitmann Company. It includes assorted business information and records, including daybooks, journals, monthly reports, business ledgers, account books, registers, balance sheets, invoices, inventories, catalogs, city sales records, and lists of shipments received. Most of the collection is still in its original bindings, in large ledgers. Much of the information is hand-written.

G. King Walters academic service at Rice University papers

Overview The G. King Walters academic service papers represent Walters' participation on committees and task forces at Rice University. Walters graduated from Rice Institute in 1953 with a degree in physics. He was hired by Rice as a Physics professor in 1963. Walters remained at Rice through retirement in 1999 and beyond, advancing through the professorial ranks to chairman of the physics department, assistant dean of natural sciences, and dean of natural sciences.

Overview The collection consists of material representing the work of Abraham J. Teplitz, research scientist-engineer at Gulf Oil Research and Development Company, from 1926 through 1966. It includes technical reports either authored or jointly authored by Teplitz, a specialist in the technology of oil well drilling.
