This record group consists of printed material and audio covering both John F. Kennedy's visit and speech on the Nation's Space Effort at Rice University on September 12, 1962.

The collection consists of images in a variety of formats of people, buildings, and events and programs associated with the Jones Graduate School of Business since its early years in the laste seventies until the first decade of the 2000s.
Joseph I. Davies papers
The Davies papers include papers, lecture notes, glass slides, and transparencies produced by Joseph I. Davies, who came to Rice Institute (later Rice University) in 1914 with Julian Huxley as his lab assistant, later received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Rice, and from 1929 to 1966 served as a member of the Rice faculty. The glass slides and transparencies taken by Davies include scenes of the early development of the Rice campus as well as later campus scenes and individuals.
Lynette S. Autrey papers
This collection of materials relates generally to the personal life of Lynette S. Autrey and her family. The Autreys were Houston entrepreneurs and philanthropists, contributing significant gifts of land and funds to Rice University, among other institutions, in support of the humanities, social sciences, and business.
Pallas Athene Literary Society records
The Pallas Athene Literary Society (PALS) was formed in 1919 when the Elizabeth Baldwin Literary Society (EBLS) split and was an active organization at Rice until 1966 when it disbanded. The records consist of a ledger book containing minutes of the society’s meetings (September 23, 1924 – May 14, 1929), newspaper clippings pertaining to various members and alumnae, and several programs and pamphlets of the society’s activities.
Ray Watkin Hoagland Strange personal papers
Ray Watkin Strange Research Materials for "William Ward Watkin and the Rice Institute"
This material covers the architectural career of the Ms. Strange's father, William Ward Watkin, including his private architecture practice and well as his relationship with Rice Institute as Supervising Architect, touching briefly on his personal life. The material was gathered by Ms. Strange and much of it served as research for the book: William Ward Watkin and The Rice Institute by Patrick James Nicholson (published 1991 by Gulf Pub. Co.).
Rice Institute 1924 Campanile yearbook printer's copy, photographs and graphics
The collection consists of the bound printer's copy of the 1924 yearbook of Rice Insitute, the Campanile. Also in the collection are envelopes of photographs apparently considered for use and 8" by 10" copies of photographic portraits that were used in smaller format. Samples of the intended covers and decorative printing and artwork to be used especially on pages without photographs are also included. Invoices for various stages of the production are included as well.
Rice Institute Computer Project records
This collection contains records of the first computer developed at Rice University (then Rice Institute) including correspondence, memoranda, manuals, news clippings, photographs, and drawings.
Rice Institute Photographs of Special Occasions
The collection consists of 284 8” by 10” black and white photographs of special occasions at Rice Institute, chiefly baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies. The photographs were collected by Captain James A. Baker and were presented in May 1960 to the Rice Institute Library in memory of Captain and Mrs. Baker by the Baker family.
