Jeffrey J. Kripal Academic Papers
The Jeffrey J. Kripal Papers mostly covers Kripal’s tenure at Rice University up to 2015 (and will eventually cover at least up to 2019) but also reaches as far back as 1970. It includes correspondence, unpublished manuscripts, course materials, and on-going research.

The collection focuses on the military career and death of a first generation American pilot, Jerry C. This collection consists of correspondence, publicity materials, a statement about the founding of the Joan and Stanford Alexander South Texas Jewish Archives, formerly known as the Houston Jewish History Archive (HJHA), meeting materials, newsletters, and news clippings that feature the work the STJA is doing to preserve materials belonging to individuals and synagogues in the Houston Jewish community following the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

This collection contains a series of typed letters (1981-1982) from Professor Thomas, a member of the Rice University English faculty, to Nancy Boothe, Director of the Woodson Research Center, concerning the history of the university. Also included are two duplicate series that are collections of verse and prose observations on numerous topics, intended for circulation. A miscellaneous file includes notices and photographs relating to Professor Thomas’ Mark Twain programs.
