Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains the typescript and galley proofs of the novel "The Golden Chair," winner of the Southwest Literary Award. It was published by Elsevier Press in 1954. Mr. Arnold is a former student of Rice University where he was editor of the student newspaper the "Thresher" and president of the Writers Club. He was also Rice correspondent for the "Houston Chronicle."
