Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains a t-shirt, two photographs, and a uniform patch all carried into space aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, STS-51 from September 12-22, 1993. James (Jim) Newman earned his Masters and PhD from Rice and afterwards went to work at NASA, where he flew several space missions. The photographs feature Dr. Newman wearing the shirt in space.
