Scope and Contents From the Collection: These three bound volumes contain the logs of four Royal Navy frigates; the HMS Topaze, the HMS Achilles, the HMS Duke of Wellington and the HMS Agincourt. The HMS Topaze was one of the ships in a detached squadron which served under the command of Rear Admiral George Granville Randolph. The first two volumes contain entries and maps drawn by Captain Arthur Thruppe regarding weather conditions, courses, chores performed, religious services on board the HMS Topaze from July 16, 1874 to August...
