Biographical / Historical
In 1916, the first Campanile was created by the first class of graduating seniors. At this time, the Campanile resembled a typical yearbook with individual student photographs organized by class, along with photographs of faculty, organizations, major events, and sports. Following the creation of the residential college system in 1957, the staff began organizing the individual photographs by college. In the 1970s, the yearbook staff moved away from individual posed photographs and focused more on student life at the colleges.
