Historical Note
Anne and Charles Duncan College is the 11th and newest college at Rice University and was dedicated November 19, 2010. It is named after Anne and Charles Duncan noted philanthropists and Rice alumni. In addition, Charles Duncan, Jr. served as chair of the Rice Board of Trustees for 14 years.
Based on its environmentally friendly design, Duncan College earned a Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. This building houses 324 students and was built to house the growing student population. Excerpted in part from the article "Rice dedicates Duncan College."
