Historical note

The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) later renamed The BioScience Research Collaborative is an 477,000 square-foot building where scientists and educators from Rice University and other Texas Medical Center institutions work together to perform leading research that benefits human medicine and health. (Excerpted from http://brc.rice.edu/Home/) Construction of the BRC began in 2006 and was completed in July 2009. The building was constructed on 2.9 acres of land owned by Rice University and houses the department of bioengineering.
