The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is a source of information about Rice University, its peers and the university's educational environment.

OIR gather data and synthesize information about Rice's students, faculty, staff and alumni; perform customized analyses to inform organizational decisions, evaluate and update policies and procedures, and plan for the university's future; prepares reports for federal, state and local organizations, educational consortia and other public agencies; and respond to requests for information from within and outside the university.
