Biographical / Historical

Rice University Studies, which was originally published as the Rice Institute Pamphlets, served as the predominate means of scholarly communication at Rice University for much of the twentieth century. The Rice Institute Pamphlets were an interdisciplinary scholarly journal published at Rice between 1915 and 1981. The publication featured articles from a variety of prominent intellectuals, such as Julian Huxley, an English biologist and philosopher who was an early faculty member at Rice. (Excerpted from News From Fondren, Fall 2005).

The Rice Institute Pamphlet is available online at http://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/8324 and Rice University Studies will soon be available in that same location.
