Biographical / Historical

The Vietnamese Culture and Science Association was founded in 1991 when a group of 14 Vietnamese American professionals in Houston, Texas agreed to establish a non-profit organization whose mission was to serve the Vietnamese and American communities, focusing specifically on culture and science. Participants have been Viet youths from all walks of life, along with volunteers, corporations, sponsors, speakers, trainers, city, state, and federal officials, young professionals, and students. Activities have included an annual leadership development project, Camp Len Duong, an annual Youth Excellence Recognition Luncheon, and a health initiative titled Walk for Wellness. The core values of the organization are Education, Culture, Leadership, Excellence, and Volunteerism.
