Historical Note

Rice University was founded in 1891 and opened in 1912. The clothing in this collection reflects many of the events and trends over the years from the Academic regalia of the first female graduate, Miss H. Lel Red in 1916, freshman beanies, cheerleading uniforms, costumes for the Archi-Arts ball to more recent t-shirts for campus-wide events and programs.
